During last week’s Annual CLM Conference, Partner Alex Malino spent a day volunteering with the United Cerebral Palsy School of Central Florida. The mission of United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) is to advance the independence, productivity and full citizenship of people with disabilities through an affiliate network. UCP is the leading source of information on cerebral palsy and other disabilities and is a pivotal advocate for the rights of people living with disabilities. More than 65% of people served by UCP have disabilities other than cerebral palsy. UCP of Central Florida consists of seven public charter schools serving kids with and without disabilities in the Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties.
Mr. Malino had the pleasure of spending the day teaching, playing with and reading to 3-4 year olds. Mr. Malino appreciated this rewarding experience. “I’ve been attending the CLM conferences since their inception and always feel the day of community service with my colleagues brings us together in a much more genuine way. It really make you appreciate what’s important to us all at the end of the day. These kids struggle daily with neurological and physical disabilities, yet their smiles light up any room. Spending a few hours with these wonderful kids is my pleasure”
