Barry McTiernan & Moore LLC recently held a 50/50 raffle fundraiser supporting Pride Month and Pride in Action.
When doing fundraising events, we look for organizations that are in line with the vision of our owners. Our firm owners Suzanne Halbardier and Alex Malino believe that supporting our youth now will help them be successful in the future. The Trevor Project, is a non-profit organization that provides 24/7 suicide prevention and crisis intervention services for LGBTQ+ young people. We hope that this contribution will help create a more inclusive and loving world for LGBTQ+ youth, offering them the support and bright future they truly deserve.
Our lucky raffle winner was Senior Associate Ashley Johnston who decided to donate all of the funds to the Trevor Project. We thank her and would also like to express our gratitude to the employees who generously contributed to the fundraiser. Barry McTiernan & Moore LLC matched the donation of our employees as our contribution to The Trevor Project.
Barry McTiernan & Moore LLC is proud to congratulate Krina Modi, Esq. for being sworn in as part of the Fordham University School of Law group admission to the Supreme Court of the United States. We are genuinely proud of her achievement and thank her for sharing her inspirational story in this video.
June is Men's Health Month. It is important for men to educate themselves about the health issues they may encounter and what steps they can take to improve their overall health. To bring Men's Health Month to a close, we would like to highlight one of our outstanding Partners, William Joyce.
Here’s what Bill has to say:
How do you manage stress levels as a Partner?
“Have interests and passions outside of work. Have a good sense of humor. Try not to take things personally.”
What special efforts do you make to ensure you are in good mental and physical health?
“I coach, bake, read, and train for Spartan races. I am home for dinner with my family every night. I practice yoga a few minutes per day.”
What’s one helpful tip you would give other men struggling with their mental or physical health?
“Start small. Find a group of like-minded people. Spend time with friends and family. Don’t be afraid to ask for help.”

In support of breast cancer awareness and research, Barry McTiernan & Moore LLC held a 50/50 raffle fundraiser and matched the donations to the winner’s charity of choice. The winner of the raffle was Associate, Edoardo Maffia and he decided to donate all proceeds in memory of his mother Maura Guida Maffia.
In total, BMM donated $1,000 to The Breasties organization which is the first all-inclusive nonprofit organization that creates a community for survivors, previvors, stage 4 thrivers, and caregivers impacted by breast and gynecologic cancers.
Barry McTiernan & Moore was happy to organize a Back-to-School Drive to collect school supplies for teacher, Latricia Dendy, and her 6th graders at East Bronx Academy. The drive was able to help students from low-income households access the necessary materials they need to thrive in their education. To this day, many Black, Latino, and Native American students and students from low-income households enter classrooms without enough books, technology, and supplies.
To show our support BMM matched the supplies that employees donated to ensure many students were able to receive supplies to help them throughout the school year.

My years at BMM are akin to those spent growing up within a family. I am a “lifer,” having started my journey here while still in law school, progressing as an associate and working my way to partner status. As in any family, there have been joys and losses, successes and failures, stressors and fun days. 42+ years later, there is much to look back upon, with gratitude, for a work-life well spent and full family life, with precious memories.
