BMM Life

In support of American Heart Health Month and research, BMM held a 50/50 raffle fundraiser and matched the donations to give to the winner’s charity of choice. The winner of the raffle was Billing Coordinator, Vivian Salcedo and she decided to donate to the American Heart Association. Vivian has been donating to this organization since she had heart surgery in 2009, so we are happy for her and glad that we got to donate to a great cause!

In total, BMM donated $550 to the American Heart Association which is an organization of more than 35 million volunteers and supporters dedicated to improving heart health and reducing deaths from cardiovascular diseases and stroke.

Barry McTiernan & and Moore organized our 4th volunteer initiative with God's Love We Deliver! Here’s what BMM employees had to say:

“Volunteering for GWLD was such a beautiful and warming experience. I got to work alongside Jason and Usha preparing plates and labeling/packing. We created a system that worked for us to achieve the goal quickly and efficiently. I cherished every moment, and I’m glad we were able to be a part of the process of helping those in need of a healthy meal.”- Maliyah Graham

“I enjoyed working with the GLWD as I got to see how people with disabilities are cared for by people who care for them.  I worked with Tabia and other volunteers by helping them in the bakery section where we labeled the deserts and packaged cornbread.  It was a pleasure to be a volunteer.” Shaleem Grant

“Worked hard for a great organization.  It was remarkable how many healthy meals they are able to crank out for folks who really need them.” – Jason Riemer

“It was great to volunteer for GLWD for the second time. I worked with Shaleem and a few retired ladies in the bakery section. It was amazing to see how much people truly enjoy volunteering and showing up with a positive attitude to serve the community!”- Tabia Smith

“Volunteering for GWLD was such an amazing experience I had. I love giving back to our community. The experience was more unique and fun when you could share that with great coworkers like Maliyah and Jason. We prepared plates and labeling/packing, and it was a great team effort. I am extremely happy to give back and put a smile on those who are in need.” – Usha Subryan

In support of breast cancer awareness and research, Barry McTiernan & Moore LLC held a 50/50 raffle fundraiser and matched the donations to the winner’s charity of choice. The winner of the raffle was Associate, Edoardo Maffia and he decided to donate all proceeds in memory of his mother Maura Guida Maffia.

Barry McTiernan & Moore was happy to organize a Back-to-School Drive to collect school supplies for teacher, Latricia Dendy, and her 6th graders at East Bronx Academy. The drive was able to help students from low-income households access the necessary materials they need to thrive in their education. To this day, many Black, Latino, and Native American students and students from low-income households enter classrooms without enough books, technology, and supplies.

To show our support BMM matched the supplies that employees donated to ensure many students were able to receive supplies to help them throughout the school year.

Testimonials

  • Shaleem Grant

    Secretary

As I approach my first year with BMM, my experience has been great! My co-workers were super helpful from day one and we have great communication. BMM is a great place to work, do not hesitate to ask questions because everyone is willing to help, and just be yourself.

  • Samantha Perlowitz

    Associate

My experience at BMM has been amazing! Everyone is super friendly and always there to answer any questions I may have. I am excited to continue to learn and grow at BMM.

  • Rafael Soto

    Associate

My advice to a new attorney starting at BMM would be to leave all your preconceived notions of a law firm at the door. Always ask questions if you are unsure because, unlike in other firms, everyone is approachable here and helpful. I would not say I have experienced only one positive thing here but many things. I believe that having a law firm and superiors who value your opinion fosters trust and confidence.

  • Patricia Sullivan

    Partner

My years at BMM are akin to those spent growing up within a family. I am a “lifer,” having started my journey here while still in law school, progressing as an associate and working my way to partner status. As in any family, there have been joys and losses, successes and failures, stressors and fun days. 42+ years later, there is much to look back upon, with gratitude, for a work-life well spent and full family life, with precious memories.
